Facebook is not showing your posts to your fans - and what to do against it.
by Yussi
What does that have to do with your non-profit? Well, Facebook is also hiding your posts (EdgeRank is the name of the secret Facebook sauce that determines the fate of your post.) In fact the statistic service Pagelever just pulled together some pretty stark numbers: On average, only 7.49% see a post. AllFacebook.com put together this table:

What does that mean for your non-profit Facebook page?
Stop obsessing about Facebook page likes – start obsessing about interaction
While it is important, how many people like your page, this is not the most important number. What is much more important is how many people interact with a post. The more people like or comment on a post, the better the chances, your post will show up on newsfeeds of other people who like your page – and don’t forget all the friends of these people seeing that their friends commented on your post!
Your goals are likes and comments.
Knowing this, it’s important to not just post links or statuses. They have to provoke likes and comments. Ask questions or ask for advice. And don’t be afraid to specifically ask people to like your post (e.g. “Hit Like if you agree).
Make your posts more relevant for your fans
This is not new in the world of communication: The more relevant your message to your audience, the better it resonates. Facebook makes that a tad easier for you: After you’ve reached a certain number of page likes, a little lock appears next to the “share” button of your page’s status update. There, you can target by geo-location and/or by language.
Post early, post often
Knowing that not everyone sees every post, you can stop worrying about bothering your users with too many posts. There is no reason, not to post more than twice a day.
