I've been using Photoshop CS6 for several months now. And yet, a really nifty feature evaded me until this past week, when I needed to find a way to make the dotted strokes on my Photoshop map graphic scalable for retina display purposes. I thought I'd share in case this feature has evaded you, too, or in case you are looking for reasons to upgrade to CS6!

Adobe's latest major update to its flagship software program, Photoshop CS6, has been out for a few months now, and I'm still stumbling upon and learning about some of the new features and improvements daily that have been tucked away just waiting to be discovered. However, there's one incredible new feature that tops them all in my book. This improvement saves me a ton of time on almost every project I work on, and I'm willing to bet that it's improving the work of the majority of Photoshop CS6 users without them even realizing it, yet it's flying under the radar. Recently, Facebook has finally rolled out Timeline, its new profile layout that was announced last Fall. While Timeline has many usability and functional benefits to the previous profile layout, definitely the most noticeable change is the addition of a Cover photo at the top of your profile. Every user has the ability to upload a large photo to be displayed at the top of their Timeline, with their profile photo laid neatly on top.

While this allows users to show off a large, attractive visual of importance to any, for those of us that are so inclined, it allows a way to create a clever or creative composition and personalize our profiles just a bit more. Below is a screenshot of my Timeline Cover, an homage to one of my favorite video games, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out:
