Segja ostur! That's "Say Cheese" in Icelandic - a phrase I never said on my recent trip because A) everyone in Iceland speaks English and B) Icelandic is REALLY HARD TO PRONOUNCE CORRECTLY.
But that didn't stop me from taking an inane amount of photos - and testing the creative boundaries of my iPhone when combined with the free wireless on the tour busses. So, while I'd spent $500 on a nice new camera, it turned out I could have gotten by with just these photo apps:

I wanted to write a rant about how its recent acquisition by Facebook can/will ruin my beloved Instagram. And/or all the thoughtful things one could do with a billion dollars. But I'm trying to come from a peaceful and productive place, so I present you instead with The Atlantic's handy guide to Instagram's various filters (via Lifehacker). Share it with your mother, share it with your teenage cousin. Share it with the babies. If Facebook usage is any indication, they'll be all over Instagram in no time.
