1. Spotify

After taking Europe by storm with it's simplistic design and seamless service, Spotify has made its way to the United States. Spotify is a music streaming service that allows users to search for an artist, song, or album, and play it instantly. It functions as a desktop application requiring users to download the application to their computer. It also imports your entire iTunes library into its interface allowing you to play your iTunes music in Spotify's Interface. Users can create custom playlists, and share them with their friends who also have accounts. If a user decides to purchase the premium or unlimited plan, they can use Spotify on their mobile device and listen to music without an Internet connection. This is achieved by music being stored locally, for the user’s disposal. These plans start at 4.99/month.

2. We7

We7 is a free music streaming service that operates from a web browser. We7 functions more as a radio service serving music to the user based on genre preferences. Users can playback tracks with very limited advertisements. There is also an option to purchase songs or albums. We7 also provides a free iPhone and android application that allows users to  use this service directly from their mobile device. We7 is a great alternative if you would like music played for you in a radio style.

3. LastFM

With its jaw-dropping interface and its large community, LastFM is probably the most well known service on our list. It functions like a personalized radio experience with features that suggest what type of music you may be interested in. LastFM has a community of over 40 million users and provides over 7 million tracks. Here, users cannot select individual tracks but can provides music options and generates a recommended playlist for each individual user. It has different feeds which allows other users see what their friends are listening to. Users also have the option to purchase individual tracks of their choice. LastFM is clearly a top choice if you are busy and need a service to set up playlists for you.
